White botton mushroom are the most popular in the Gulf. White botton mushrooms are available in three different sizes; small "buttons", medium and large "jumbo". The color of the white button mushroom may vary from bright white to off-white.
Don't clean mushrooms until you are ready to use them. To remove any bits of the peat moss in which they were grown, rinse quickly with cold running water or wipe the mushrooms with a damp cloth, paper towel or soft brush.
Woodsy flavour becomes stronger with cooking.
Serve in soups, salads, appetizers, and entrées; a great side dish with any meal.
